Release
The time is now for change. There is a huge amount of resistance to change that must be overcome. To release that resistance is the difficult part.
Why is releasing so difficult? It should be as easy as letting something go. But we cling to everything because that is how we define ourselves; by our things and our personalities and our established routines. We have labels for all parts of our lives that define us and without those labels we do not know who we are.
We are gods in human bodies but we do not know how to live as gods so we live according to our labels. We are fathers and mothers and teachers and policemen and store clerks and farmers and writers and actors and politicians. To release our labels we lose our identities. Yet it is these identities that prevent the gods in us from coming out fully.
Our daily routines define for us our lives. To release those patterns we would not know what to do. What would we do if we did not have a job to go to each day? What would we do if we did not have families? What would we do if we did not have televisions or the internet to engage us?
If we dropped our personalities how would others see us? How would we see ourselves? Each day we reinforce the personality we have chosen for ourselves and we do not even consider changing them. What would it be like to have a different personality with each new day? How would we define ourselves? We need continuity in our personalities and this need continually drags the past with us like a ball and chain.
Have you ever taken a vacation away from where you live and while on vacation tried on a new personality? It is safe because no one you know is around to notice the change. Back home, though, we revert to our conditioned personality and no real change happens.
Why is change so important? Change is life. Life is constantly changing and by resisting change we are resisting life and blocking new possibilities and growth.
We let others create who we are. We find a place in mass consciousness that we are comfortable in and then allow that mass consciousness to run our lives. Instead we could release that and allow the god spark within us to come through and run our lives instead.
But we fear that god spark. It is much safer to reside in mass consciousness. That way we do not have to take responsibility for creating our own reality.
We live in a herd consciousness. We let the herd dictate to us what we wear, how we style our hair, what vehicles we drive, what behavior we engage in public, what kind of home we live in, what we do for a living, and how we think. There is great safety and comfort in this herd consciousness. As long as we do not break out of it we are accepted. Fear of non-acceptance keeps us in the herd consciousness. Fear of being judged by the herd molds our behavior. To go against the herd is to be rejected and that is a horrible feeling. No one wants to be rejected and judged and condemned. So we all stay in the herd. There may be sub-groups within the herd but we all generally stay within the larger boundaries of the herd.
Stepping out of the herd we lose our support mechanisms. We are suddenly all alone. We do not know how to bring up the support of our own god spark within. With all the labels gone and without the herd consciousness thinking for us we are in a state of vulnerability and indecision. We do not know what to do or how to act or what to want. We lose our identities.
It is a tough state to be in but that is the state in which we can open up to our god spark within. When we become that empty there is no resistance to the god spark and it can fill our beings. Once we are filled by it then our lives become richer than we could possibly imagine. But first we must release the herd and get into that frightening state of emptiness and vulnerability and surrender. Our fear of that keeps us from touching our god spark, or life spark, and letting that fill us and move us and change us.
It is hard to release the herd consciousness when we have been entrenched in it all of our lives. We cling to it in fear of that emptiness and vulnerability. We cling to it in fear of losing our identities. But there is a greater identity awaiting us; one that is not determined by the herd but rather by our selves. When we can say, “I Am…” and truly mean it then we are getting closer to that greater identity. As long as we are in herd consciousness, “I Am,” is determined by the herd and not by us. To realize our true power we must take back our identities and use our own consciousness.

When you see the world, you are seeing it through a conglomeration of judgments of mass consciousness. When you look at the same things every day, day after day, you stop seeing everything. Your mind brings up a default picture. Since you are not looking for anything new and different, it is easier for the brain to just bring up this default picture. Since you are not looking for anything new, for any subtle differences, the brain does not have to process any new information and, for conservation of energy, just brings up this default picture of the world we see.
Our brains are efficient computers and what they provide us is commensurate with what we, the computer user, program into it and what we ask of it. When we ask our brain computers to do exactly the same jobs every day we get back the very same information. When we use our senses the very same way we are in-putting the very same commands to our brain computer. When we engage our senses in a way to always be looking for new and subtle differences it forces our brains to engage new thinking and it gets it out of its default programming.
Our brain computer systems are tied into the herd brain system. The major programs and systems are downloaded to our individual brain computers and we run within the parameters of the larger operating systems of the herd mind.
But each of our individual brain computers is designed to run independently of the herd unit. But it takes us being in charge of the input of what we put into our individual computers and how we use them. How we use our senses to input into our computers and how we then use that data is up to us but we must choose to be the one in charge of our own computers.
We can take charge of our own computers and still be able to communicate with all the other computers in the herd system without allowing the herd system to take control. But it is not easy; especially when we have been letting the herd system run our computer for most of our lives.
Most people have home computers and are connected to the internet. For many, the main use of the computer is to connect with the internet. What if you lost your internet connection for an extended time? Would you stop using your computer? What can you do with your computer without it being connected to the internet?
Our brains are wonderful computers and we are only using a small portion of their capabilities. To increase our usage of those capabilities it helps to understand how our computer works. It will do what we command it to do but we must know how to make the proper commands. To expand our usage we must open up unused portions of our brain computer and explore new possibilities. Our brains are like a huge maze but we just go round and round in a tiny portion of it.
When we start to understand the incredible power of our brains our curiosity will spur us on to discover exciting new ways to use it.

We are Creators. We are divine Creators with astounding abilities. The brain is a tool we can use to create with. How does the brain create? It creates by giving life to thoughts. Every time we run a thought through our brain system, across the neurons, the firing of those neurons give the thought life. Every thought that goes through the neuron firing process in our brains is given life.
Every thought is a creation of ours. Thoughts are like children. We create them and give them life but then they are no longer ours. We do not own them and we do not own our thoughts. Once we have given a thought life by running it through the brain process it has its own life and we no longer own it, nor can we control it. We can try to manipulate it but it is no longer ours. We have given it life and, once being given life, it has the freewill to exist on its own and to find completion somewhere in the field of possibilities.
Think about that. Once we have a thought it is no longer ours. Once a thought has been given life (by being run through our creative tool, the brain) that thought is a living thing that seeks expression. We can use this same analogy to say that we are thoughts in our Creator’s mind that likewise have sought expression—and found it here in our bodies as humans.
The problem is that we do not let our thoughts go. We hold onto them and try to recreate them and manipulate them and change them. But we cannot change a thought once it has been thought! We cannot. That would be impinging upon that thought’s freewill. We create by sending thoughts through our brain system to give them life but then we focus on trying to change those thoughts. Maybe the thought did not come out the way we intended so we try to change it. But we cannot. We can only create a new thought. That is why it seems so hard for any of us to truly change. It is because we are trying to change the thoughts that we already had, which we cannot do, instead of creating new thoughts. The way to change is to create new thoughts.

We create with thoughts and feelings. By feelings, I do not mean emotions. Emotions are a bio-chemical reaction within our bodies. True feeling is an electrical charge that originates from our life spark, or Source—from the very core of our being. A thought running through the neuron firing of our brain is given life through that firing but that life is weak. When we combine the life-giving process of the neuron firing of the brain with a strong electrical charge from deep feeling then the thought is given life that is vibrating strongly and will have a stronger ability to attract the possibilities for that thought to manifest and express itself.
Whenever there are times of stress and distress and struggle we know there is a blockage somewhere in our being. There is a resistance to the vibrant flow of energy flowing through us from our Source. Each of us have a source of unlimited power and energy and knowledge. That flow of energy is what gives us life. It is what animates us.
When that energy is flowing at its fullest capacity we are living at our fullest. There is no struggle, no fear, no guilt, no remorse, and we seem to have limitless energy. Things come to us just as we need them. Things happen spontaneously and just at the right time. It is a state of being we all wish we could be in all the time.
And we can be. That is the state most of us are trying to realize. It is a divine state of being and it is expressing and living life fully and completely.
But we block that energy flow in many ways. We block it with our fears and guilt and anger. We block it with our attitudes. We block it with our addictions. And we block it with our thoughts.
When that energy is flowing strongly our thoughts manifest quickly. And when our thoughts manifest quickly we are more aware of what we are thinking. We choose what thoughts to think more carefully.
We all have tens of thousands of thoughts every day. Many we are barely even aware of. Many of them are repetitive routine thoughts that we think over and over and over. Each of these thoughts is being given life as we think them and they all seek expression.
When we routinely think thoughts of lack or thoughts that reinforce lack then we have an awful lot of thoughts of lack seeking expression. These thoughts will coagulate and create a situation of lack. To create lack all one needs to do is close down that flow of Source energy coming from the life spark of our being.
So we create a closing of that energy by creating thoughts of lack. The more we habitually think—both consciously and subconsciously—the stronger the closing of that energy flow.
So we could make affirmations, which are a forceful thought. We can affirm three times a day that we are abundant and while this can be helpful in opening the energy flow back up, those three thoughts are competing against thousands of thoughts of lack that we are thinking on a regular basis. So for affirmations to be successful we have also got to consciously release the thoughts of lack and stop thinking them. Without doing that the affirmations will make little to no progress.
The conversation in our minds is where we are all sending out thousands of thoughts and we are often not fully paying attention to that conversation. If we could step aside and evaluate that conversation and see how many of those thoughts are thoughts of lack then we can realize how we are contributing to our own lack.
The conversation in our minds is very habitual. It takes a good deal of conscious intent to change it. First we must garner an awareness of it and then we can start reprogramming it. And that involves stopping the thoughts that are contributing to the lack and replacing them with thoughts of abundance.
Imagine thinking nothing but abundant thoughts at all times! If you try it you will eventually find yourself slipping back into some of the old conversation. With years of conditioning it is only natural. It takes time and diligence to recondition but without doing so mere affirmations will not bring about the change we truly want.
And so it is, too, with the thoughts we verbally express to others.

When there are no leaders who will we take our direction from? We will have to provide our own leadership. We will have to take responsibility for our own lives and for creating our reality. A herd needs a leader to direct the herd and the herd consciousness. That herd leader cannot take the individuals out of the herd mind. They cannot direct anyone outside of the herd mind for they are controlled by the herd mind and their direction is limited to the parameters of that herd mind.
Each of us can direct our thoughts outside of the herd mind. Each of us can start making our own decisions. And each of us can begin creating our own reality.
There is still a one-ness that supersedes everything but it is all inclusive whereas the herd mind is very inclusive. So we can gain independence from the herd mind while still being connected to the one-ness.
Waking up to our divine powers and abilities reveals to us the power of choice and the power of freewill. They are our birthright--a grand gift--which we have not fully accepted.
Whenever there are choices and options to choose from our choice-making is a creationist tool. We have the power to decide what gets created and we decide if we create through conditioned default or through awakened preference.
Change is the easiest thing to do. One simply stops doing one thing and starts doing another different thing. We cannot try to change because if we are trying then we are not changing. There is no effort involved in implementing a choice; in stopping one thing and beginning another. The struggle is in making the choice. The change itself is easy. One simply stops doing one thing and starts doing something different. That is called change. Deciding to change is where all the resistance and struggle is.

There are several ways of looking at change. There is only one true change, though. It is when one thing stops and a new thing starts. We can see modification as change but it is not true change. Behavior can be modified but it is just a different version of the same behavior. We can modify our thoughts without truly changing them. We take old thoughts and try to change them or modify them but they are still the old thoughts. True change comes when we totally release old thoughts and think new ones.
Have you ever been to an ice skating rink? Have you watched the skaters skating around in circles? They can be most graceful and fluid in their motions. What happens when they fall?
The motion stops. The gracefulness and fluidity stop. And then they get up, dust themselves off, and continue skating. Once again the gracefulness and fluidity return and it is pleasant to watch them skate.
That is what we do with our thoughts. Our flow of thoughts is going along nice and fluid like and then suddenly we slip and fall and that flow of thoughts is interrupted. But we get up, dust ourselves off, and continue with that flow of thoughts. We will skate round and round the rink or pond, occasionally stopping to rest or occasionally falling. But we continue to get back into that flow of thoughts and skate round and round.
This can be a lot of fun. This can be beautiful and graceful and exhilarating. But what if you wanted to change your flow of thoughts? What if you wanted to make a drastic change and try out a completely new flow of thoughts?
You could try skating in the opposite direction from what you had been skating before. Or you could try skating with different motions. You could try different techniques and try new jumps. Or you could change your skating costume. You could even get new skates to see what a difference that would make. There are a lot of things you could try to “change” your skating but the simple fact is that you are still ice skating.
Those are all modifications to an existing flow of thoughts. They are not a true change. A true change would involve leaving the ice rink or pond and going somewhere else and doing something entirely different.
And the same goes for the ones who are sitting in the stands watching the ice skaters. To truly change you have got to get up, walk away, and start something completely new and different. But we all try to change without ever leaving the ice rink or pond or stands. We try to modify the existing situation in countless ways but never achieve true change because we are still at the ice rink either skating or watching. We are just modifying our situation and not changing it.

Welcome the many opportunities that fill the field of possibilities. They are countless. When we narrow our field of perception we close ourselves off to most of those possibilities. There will come a time when we realize that all the answers we need are there in the field of possibilities just waiting for us to broaden our scope of perception enough to perceive them.
When we are modifying old thoughts we are closing our field of perception and when we think new thoughts we are opening up that field of possibilities. There can be no set of parameters that define the perfect existence. The field is limitless.
Going with the flow of our divine source energy will take us where ever we want to go. Our resistance to that flow keeps us from that.
There are several ways to change appearances and there are many ways to give the appearance of change. But real change may not happen.
Real change is like quitting an addiction such as smoking. There are all sorts of tools we can use. We can start by cutting back. We can alter our habits associated with smoking. We can use mantras and affirmations. We can use patches and gum to wean us off the chemical addiction. Often we will quit for a few days or a few weeks and then start again. True change, though, does not happen until we have released the habit for good and truly start a life of no smoking. Many say the best way to quit is to just stop, to go “cold turkey” Change can happen that quickly.
But often while we are trying to change something our thoughts continue about it, weighing the pros and cons and thinking about whether or not we really want to quit. As long as we are still thinking about it then we have yet to change. A decision must be made and then the thoughts must be released and replaced with new ones.
Changing does not have to be as hard as quitting smoking. It does not have to be hard at all. It is as simple as stopping one thing and starting something different. It is the habitual thinking patterns that make it difficult. If we can change our thoughts we can change anything.
How many of our thoughts are we truly aware of? How many are habitual? How many are routine? Sometimes our minds are so full of habitual routine thoughts that it is hard to get a new one in. Our minds are very busy with all these thoughts running through them. It is easier to let the brain continue with its routine thoughts because we do not have to do anything. The thought patterns do not need our conscious input. We can just let the brain run on autopilot like this and it takes very little effort on our part.
It takes more effort to stop the thoughts and the default thinking patterns. We must consciously stop them and hold the thinking processes open in order to inject new thoughts. It is hard to stop the thinking patterns and it is hard to hold them open. But that is the only way we can inject new thoughts.
But then once we let go again the old thinking patterns continue and the new thought seems lost in them. Injecting one new thought into the stream of our routine thinking patterns will not create much change. We have got to practice and get better at stopping that stream of routine thinking patterns so that we can start doing it on a regular basis throughout our days. Then we can be injecting those new thoughts throughout the day and eventually our thinking patterns will change.
Is it possible to go cold turkey and just stop the stream of routine thinking patterns in one fell sweep? Can we just stop it and immediately start thinking differently? Does it take a major catastrophe or a major epiphany to accomplish this? It obviously takes a major decision. The decision is always the first step in the process. Usually we do not make full decisions. We try on decisions before fully making them. Some decisions are never fully made and therefore the change never happens even though some effort was put into changing the habitual patterns. We cannot change until we have fully made the decision to.
