Blessing a Nuclear Bomb?

How Often Do You Bless?

We have been conditioned to believe that only religious authority figures have the powers to bless. The Pope can hold out his hands and bless someone. Priests and pastors and saints and gurus and prophets and holy men can bless people or places or things. But we are told that we do not have that power.

But every single human being has the power to bless. We are duped by religions to give up that power and rely solely on the religious leaders to do all the blessing. That is one way religions maintain power. But we can change the world by taking back that power and using it on a daily basis.
To bless someone or something we are giving them or it unconditional love. We are feeding it pure unconditional energy. People and places respond to that energy because that energy is what provides life and growth. The vibratory frequency of anyone or anything is increased and enhanced when it is blessed — given unconditional love energy by a human.

Any human. You do not need to be wearing clerical garments or hold a religious position to be able to project unconditional love energy towards someone or something. Anyone can do it!

How often do you do it? How often do you bless the people you see walking down the street? How often do you bless the people you work with or the ones in your family? How often do you bless the food that you are cooking or eating? How often do you bless your pets? Do you bless your laptop before getting on the internet? Do you bless the items you pick up from the shelves in the store? Do you bless the people on the other side of the world that you hear about on the news? Do you bless a book before you read it? Do you ever bless nature?

There are many ways to bless. It is all about projecting unconditional love energy. Thoughts are energy so blessing with our thoughts is one way. When we see someone approaching us we can mentally say, “I bless them.” Of course, for the energy to be pure and unconditional our blessing thought must be free of all judgment and emotion. The thought must be sincere and based in unconditional love (as opposed to conditional, emotional, romantic love).

While thought energy can be powerful, heart energy is far more powerful. When we release all thought from our noggins and all emotion from our body we can become a clear, empty vessel which unconditional love energy can flow through. It is the heart through which this energy flows. And it is with the heart that we can direct the energy towards anything or anyone we want to bless.

Let us go back to the person approaching you. Upon seeing them approach you, empty your noggin of thought and release all emotion and then visualize a beam of white light coming out of your heart and shooting towards the other person’s heart. Just feel that energy flowing from your heart to theirs. Do not say anything or think anything; just feel the energy. It only takes a second or two or three. With practice you will be able to sustain it for longer but a brief second or two is all it takes to bless that person.

The hands are another way to bless. Our hands are energy conduits. We both project and take in energy with our hands. Surely you have heard of people healing through the laying on of hands. With a clear mind, focus your attention on your hands and with practice you can feel a faint tingling. This is energy moving through your hands. You can project unconditional love energy out through your hands onto objects or people, thus blessing them. Anyone can do it and the better you get at clearing all thought and emotion while you do it, the stronger the energy will become. Try it on your pets or your houseplants. Before I eat a meal that I have cooked for myself I hold my two hands a few inches above the food and feel the unconditional love energy flowing through my hands down into the food.

There are more advanced methods of blessing as well but the important thing to realize is that we can all bless. It is a great thing to practice and it is something that we can eventually do throughout our day. When we bless people and things in our lives we are raising the vibrations of everything in our lives and our reality eventually starts reflecting this. What we put out comes back. Eventually you may find that the more you bless, the more you will be blessed.

Blessing a Nuclear Bomb?

Back in the late 1980’s I immersed myself in the intense study of Lakota spirituality. I studied under a pipe carrier (holy man) who had studied under Wallace Black Elk, the grandson of the Lakota holy man, Black Elk. I underwent dozens of sweat-lodges, vision quests and other sacred ceremonies. I also studied all the literature I could find about Lakota spirituality and Lakota culture.

While this utterly turned everything I knew upside down and provided me with a life-changing education, I eventually moved on to study other spiritual traditions as well. I have intensely studied several spiritual traditions but I have never stuck with any one. I continually move on to new and different learning. To pick one form of spirituality and stick to it is to block out all other perspectives and I have always wanted to remain open to them all. I wanted to learn from them all and not become encapsulated within any one of them.

It was about a decade later that I had the supreme privilege of meeting Wallace Black Elk himself. It was at a very small gathering of light-workers (about 15 people) and the gathering was in honor of Anna Mitchell-Hedges, who then was the caretaker of the famous Mitchell-Hedges crystal skull. (She has since passed on.)

While Anna was there with her famous crystal skull, it was Wallace Black Elk who stole the show, so to speak. I was truly humbled to be in the presence of a man who helped to pass on the spiritual wisdom that I had previously studied so diligently. I sat there just two seats away from him utterly mesmerized by his incredible energy. He was a very wise spiritual teacher and he was a profoundly gifted storyteller. He was also a very gifted comedian. He had all of us in stitches with his stories.

As one of the most prominent spiritual leaders of the Lakota Nation during his time (he has since passed on) he was constantly being asked to do favors for the U. S. Government as well as various corporations. Once, a U. S. corporation that manufactured perfume paid him to come to their new factory to bless it. He went and once at the factory he refused to bless it. He told the corporate sponsors that the industrial perfume negatively altered the vibrations of those who wore it, that he could never bless such a thing. It simply was not natural and very detrimental. The corporation refused to pay his way back home and he had to hitchhike back home to South Dakota.

On another occasion representatives from the U. S. Army came to him and asked him to come and bless a brand new weapon they had created which they told him would end all war as we know it. That sort of sounded good on the surface but he asked what kind of weapon it was. The government officials told him it was a new kind of bomb called a nuclear bomb and it was capable of incinerating an entire city. Once the army dropped one of these bombs then all war would end (a promise that obviously proved false).

Incinerating an entire city? When asked how many people it would kill, he was told at least a hundred thousand. He was indignant, “You want me to bless something so heinous as this? You obviously don’t understand what blessing something means.” He refused the American government’s offer and he was never asked to bless anything again.

Upon hearing this I was utterly befuddled as to why the American government would even ask a Native American spiritual leader to bless something so profoundly evil. Why did they feel the need for a spiritual blessing from a people they had helped to decimate? This has confused me ever since. Was it some sort of guilt for having wiped out a people? But how could the blessing of those wiped out people in any way assuage the forthcoming guilt of wiping out another people? I have never been able to look at the American government the same since.

I could feel the shock in the small group as Wallace Black Elk told this story. He went on to explain that he learned that he had been asked to bless the nuclear bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki. He concluded the story by saying, “The White Man has no understanding of what it means to bless.”
Someone in the small group asked him, “So what does it mean to bless?”

Wallace smile and replied, “To understand blessing one must understand the teaching of White Buffalo Calf Woman.”

And that is all he said.

Having studied most of the world’s spiritual traditions I have to say that the teaching of White Buffalo Calf Woman is one of the most utterly profound teaching I have ever come across. Personal experiences have confirmed it beyond any doubt. I instantly knew what he meant.

White Buffalo Calf Woman

Two young Indian braves were out hunting together. Their duty was to bring home to their tribe meat to nourish all the people of the tribe. But after hunting all day they were empty handed and feared returning to the tribe with nothing. They persisted in their hunt and finally they came into a clearing and there stood a white buffalo calf.

As they readied their bows and arrows the white buffalo calf suddenly morphed into a young woman of extraordinary beauty dressed in white deerskin. Her long jet black hair reached all the way down to the backs of her knees. Her face was exquisite and she seemed to be radiating a powerful white light. She held out the palms of her hands towards the two braves.

Both young braves dropped their bows and arrows and stared at the supernatural apparition. One of the braves was overcome by lust for the woman. As the woman looked at him he disintegrated into dust and the dust fell to the earth. He was gone.

The other brave felt his heart exploding with pure love. When the woman looked at him he dropped to his knees in total surrender to the woman’s beauty.

The woman spoke to him, “I am White Buffalo Calf woman. I represent the unconditional love with which the Creator created this world. There are two ways humans can respond to unconditional love. One way is the way your brother here responded,” she pointed at the pile of dust on the ground where the other brave had stood. “He responded through desire to possess that which he perceived as separate from himself.”

She continued, “In unconditional love there is no separation. All is one. Failing to see the one-ness of all life and seeing everything as separate is what brings disharmony and disease to the people. There is no end to life except in the perception of the human mind and the human heart that does not allow unconditional love to flow through it. In this world there are the cycles of birth and death but life flows through all and is eternal. Life is the unconditional love of the Creator flowing through its creation and it is indestructible. It is what sustains all things. To go against this by perceiving separation results in…..” Once again, she pointed towards the pile of dust on the ground where the other brave had been standing.

Tears of joy flowed down the face of the brave kneeling before the holy woman.

She looked deep into his eyes and his soul, “You are blessed. Now go back to your tribe and tell them of what you learned here. Tell them that unconditional love, which is NOT the lustful love of attraction your fellow brave exhibited, is what will lead all peoples to their divine birthright upon this planet. It is what all of you came from and to which all of you will return. Let it guide all of your thoughts and actions. Tell them there are two ways to respond to unconditional love; the way you did and the way your brother did.”

“Your people will face great struggle soon. People will come who know nothing of unconditional love and they will break the spirit of your people. But beyond that will come a time when white buffalo calves will be born to herald a new age in which unconditional love will return in the hearts of peoples everywhere. Accept it and allow it into your hearts now and you will survive all struggles. With this unconditional love you will be blessed and you may bless all of life.”

With this the beautiful woman disappeared into thin air. The young brave stood up and wiped his face of tears. He swiftly ran back to his tribe to tell them of what he experienced.
Please note that this is my personal retelling of a Native American legend common to numerous tribes. The story varies from tribe to tribe. For at least one tribe the woman first appeared as a whooping crane instead of a white buffalo calf. The essence of the story is the same throughout all the tribes and that is the explanation of unconditional love.

How to Change the World

Many of us look around at the world we find ourselves in and we see struggle, endless conflict, poverty, injustice, greed, pollution and wholesale degradation of the planet. At times it seems as though humankind has gone mad and is on a hopeless path of self-destruction. We cannot help but want to help change the world but we feel powerless to do so. Our thoughts and actions seem so insignificant that we give up hope of changing the world and focus only on our own survival within that world.

There is an energy that transforms all things. It is the very energy that created this world. It is an energy that is constantly flowing through every aspect of this world at all times. It is the energy known as unconditional love.

As part of their evolution of consciousness, human beings have closed off their awareness of this energy that flows through them. This was a necessary part of their evolution. One cannot become fully aware of what unconditional love is until one learns what unconditional love is not.

So human awareness shifted focus towards that gooey organ called the brain. An important part of that evolution of human consciousness, the brain provided a seemingly endless potential for creative endeavors and self-realization. Having lost awareness of the unconditional love essence that is their true identity, however, humans developed a pseudo-identity known as the ego which is an amalgamation of conditioned thoughts in the brain and conditioned emotions in the body. Humans began thinking that this pseudo-identity was who they were and lived their lives accordingly, thus creating a world that reflected that pseudo-identity.

Looking around at all the horrors of the world we can plainly see what pure unconditional love is not. Seeing this, a faint memory arises in us and a yearning arises in us to reconnect with that pure unconditional love that we came from and which is our true essence identity. Having learned what unconditional love is not, the next step in the evolution of human consciousness is to remember what unconditional love is and to reconnect with it and integrate it with what we have learned. This is the expansion of human awareness that will usher in the world we all want.

So what can each of us do individually? We must become aware of and reconnect with that unconditional love energy flowing through us at all times. To do this we must become aware of the pseudo-identity and practice dis-identifying from it. When we can turn off the endless thoughts gushing through our noggins and the endless emotions gushing through our bodies we can enter a stillness within which we can feel that unconditional love energy flowing through us. It is about moving our attention from our noggins to our hearts, the organ through which unconditional love energy enters and moves through us.

The more we can feel this energy moving through us, the more we can utilize it. To utilize it all we have to do is direction it. I use the phrase, ‘direction it,’ instead of, ‘directing it,’ because ‘directing’ implies a cerebral function. ‘Directioning’ merely implies a turning of the body. For the sake of illustration, imagine a torrent of unconditional love energy coming toward you from behind. It enters you, flows through your heart and then gushes outward from your heart into the world. All you have to do is turn to your left or to your right and your are directioning that energy.

Remember, I said that unconditional love is the one energy, or frequency, that has the power to transform all things. When we are in our pseudo-identity it is that pseudo-identity that we project out into the world. When we can shut the pseudo-identity off and enter the stillness which opens up our heart we instead project the unconditional love energy flowing through us out into the world. That is called blessing. We are blessing whatever we direction that energy towards. That is how we change the world. And it does not involve thinking at all. Thinking and emotions throw us back into the pseudo-identity thus shutting off the flow of unconditional love.

While our brains are handy dandy tools, we cannot fully transform our world with them. It takes unconditional love, which is something our brains are barely able to conceptualize but simply cannot feel, utilize and direction. To transform our world we can utilize tools we have developed but that is secondary to expanding our awareness of the transformative power of unconditional love. We will transform our world, not with our noggins but our hearts, and we will do so by blessing it. Once enough humans are truly blessing everything they come into contact with, the world will begin transforming rapidly.
