Embracing Unconditional Love
As the unconditional love flowing through us from our Source flows through us it activates and gives life to that which we focus on. As that unconditional love flows through us it hits all the barriers we place before it. These barriers are all the conditions we hold. These barriers are what turn unconditional love into conditional love. From there they are fractured even further. Our conditions break down the energy that sustains us and usurps that energy to drive and strengthen those conditions. The more conditions we have, the stronger our barrier to that Source energy feeding us. And the stronger our conditions become.
Our beliefs are conditions. Our attitudes are conditions. Our expectations are conditions. Our guilts and fears and emotions are conditions. Our memories are conditions. Our hopes are conditions. Our actions become condition driven. We are no longer moved by the unconditional love gushing through us but rather by the barriers we put up against it.
When we come across something that disturbs us, it is disturbing our conditions. Nothing can disturb unconditional love. If we become upset, one of our conditions is not being met. This is a grand opportunity to find out what that condition is so that we can drop it. The more conditions we drop, the more open we are to unconditional love.
Every event we encounter will activate conditions we hold. We react to life through our conditioning. It is one of the ways we drag our past along with us everywhere we go. Every event draws from us a reaction. That reaction is based on the conditions we hold--our expectations, our beliefs, our fears, our guilts, our self-identification, our sorrows, our emotional needs, our mental needs, and our physical needs. Our reactions become a systematic approach to meeting as many of our needs in relation to what energy we will put forth to satisfy the event and keep it from becoming unbearable. Everything is measured and energy is spent accordingly.
Being measured and "conditioned," that energy is now only a fraction of the energy it once was as it entered us as unconditional love. We take that unconditional love that is flowing into us at all times and we chop it up, put it in the blender, dilute it, and then serve it to those we encounter. And we expect a chopped up, blended, and diluted energy in return. As long as there is an equal exchange of this chopped up, blended, and diluted energy then we're okay. We view the success of our encounters by how balanced that exchange of chopped up, blended, and diluted energy was. If conditions are met on both sides of the encounter we then feel satisfied. Heck, we may even call it love.
But that is not unconditional love. Unconditional love brings unconditional joy. It brings outrageous abundance. It gives life to everything it touches. It heals all. It brings resolution to all conflict. It brings tears of joy to all who allow it to flow through them unimpeded.
But it also gives life to all the conditions we hold up against it. Self-realization and embracing our divinity involve releasing every condition we hold up against that torrent of unconditional love gushing through us. The more conditions we release, the more conditions we realize we have to release. It can take years to release all of our conditions. The act of releasing our conditions is called surrender. We cannot embrace unconditional love except through surrender.
