Loving Haters

Loving Haters
I recently read on the internet a post by someone who said that they hated people who hate. Their post was followed by numerous comments by people who agreed and who listed the groups of people they hated. But no one pointed out the obvious in that statement. If you hate people who hate then you are someone who hates so therefore you hate yourself. This reveals much.

Hate is energy. It is an emotional energy generated within the body in reaction to thoughts being generated in the noggin. Thought and emotion are inextricably linked. You cannot have a thought without a resultant emotion and you cannot have an emotion without having a thought. Thought and emotion are a dualistic principle resulting from having a body and a noggin in a duality based reality.

Being an energy, hate can be very energizing. We are always looking for energy to fuel us. Emotions do this and help make us feel alive. Hate is one of the strongest of emotions, providing intense energy. So when we are feeling sluggish or insignificant we need a boost of energy and emotions can provide this....even if only temporarily. So, to activate emotions in order to boost our energy, we need to think the thoughts that produce those emotions.

Thinking negative judgmental thoughts about other people is one of the quickest ways to produce strong energy-producing emotions. We feel alive when judging and hating other people because of all the energy the emotions give us.

Being energy, hate, when it is expressed, goes out into the world. Energy is attracted to like energy so when we send hate out into the world, others who are also expressing hate will receive the hate we send out and this reinforces and energizes their hate. And this in turn comes back to us, reinforcing and energizing our hate. Hate feeds off of hate and can grow like cancer. All that is needed is a continual stream of hate-inducing negative judgmental thoughts.

These thoughts are easy to generate. For many, these thoughts are perpetually running in loop patterns in our noggins. If we need more of these thoughts we can just turn on the TV and watch the news to get a fresh supply of thoughts in order to fuel those emotions that provide us with the energy we want. We can also think about all the things we hate about ourselves and project them outward towards others. In our quest for energy we have been conditioned to think the thoughts required to generate the emotions that provide us with that temporary body energy.

But while many of us use the thought/emotion circuitry to produce energy to give us a feeling of aliveness, there is another energy source that is available to us that is not duality based in nature and which does not require thinking and emotions. Spiritual masters throughout the ages have identified this different energy source as unconditional love.

Unconditional love is a one-ness principle. It has no opposite (hate and conditional love are opposites). It is a feeling and NOT an emotion. And it is not generated within our bodies. It is generated from our Source/Creator/God/It (or whatever name you prefer). It is an energy that comes from outside of us and flows through us, giving us life. It can make us feel far more alive than any emotion. As an empty vessel through which this unconditional flows, we have the ability to direction that flow of unconditional love towards any and all things we come into contact with.

Unconditional love transforms all things.

That is a very powerful statement. It works differently than the duality based energy of thought/emotions. I should point out that unconditional love is radically different than what most humans call love, which is the interplay of duality based attraction. Human notions of romantic and other conditional kinds of love are actually an emotion-based energy that works in the same way as hate and all the other emotions--and it, too, is body/mind-based. It flows in two directions but unconditional love is one-way.

So when we see people who hate we can contribute our own hate energy or we can instead direction the unconditional love flowing through us toward them and this will help to transform them. But we cannot do that if we are stuck in thoughts and emotions. This blocks our awareness of that unconditional love energy flowing through us. We must turn off our thoughts and emotions so that we can FEEL the unconditional love flowing through us and then point it at those who hate (and to everything in our lives). That is when we truly begin to feel alive and realize that this infinite unconditional love energy is all we need to fuel us....and not only fuel us but profoundly transform us and our world.
