The Universe and the Line
How often do you talk to the universe? Do you even see the universe as something to communicate with? How do you see the universe? Is it something way out there; not in your thoughts and awareness on a regular basis? How immediate is it to you? How often do you think about the universe? How does one truly connect with the universe? And why is that important? Is the universe "too big" to think about? Just what is our connection to the universe? Did we create it or just suddenly find ourselves in it? Is the universe somehow greater than us? What about the universe that exists on the head of a pin? Can we relate to that universe? Just how many universes are there? Is each of us our own universe? If so, how do we relate to all the other universes? Is there one universe that contains all other universes? Where is the center of the universe? Do we have other parts of ourselves in other parts of the universe? And how do we connect with those parts? How do we travel across the universe? How do we use the universe to create? How do we use that universe energy that is constantly flowing through us? How do we feel it? How can we gain a greater awareness of the universe? How often do we stare up at the stars at night? How often do we project ourselves out into the universe? What kind of questions do we ask of the universe? And what kind of answers do we provide it? How intimate are you with the universe?
Okay, on the screen of your mind draw a bold straight line from left to right. Put a dot at the left end of the line, a dot at the right end of the line, and put a dot right in the middle of the line. The dot at the right end of the line represents the universe. It represents All That Is. The dot in the middle represents your awareness. And the dot at the left end of the line represents the No Thing.
We can call everything on the line to the right of the center dot macro and we can call everything to the left of the center dot micro. Or we can call everything on the right outer and everything on the left inner.
There you are on the center dot and you are aware of everything on that dot. That is your world, your reality; what you are aware of. Now, when turning to your right, you try to imagine what it must be like on that dot at the right end of the line; that dot that is the entire universe. It is very hard to imagine, and it can feel like you are losing your mind taking it all in. The universe is so vast and all encompassing that it is very difficult to imagine it when your awareness is used to seeing things only within the context of that center dot. And imagining it is one thing but to truly understand the universe you have got to experience it while being at that dot at the right end of the line. We can barely imagine that right dot from the center dot but we cannot experience it without bringing our awareness along that line all the way out until it is actually on that right dot.
Likewise, when we turn left from the center dot and go towards that dot at the left end of the line, we go within and get smaller the further we proceed. We go through layer after layer until we get to the cellular level and the atomic level and the subatomic level. Every level gets tinier until we finally reach that dot on the left and that is nothingness. Absolute nothing. The No Thing. This is as hard for us to imagine as the All That Is, especially if we have never moved our awareness very far off that center point. So to expand our awareness we move it in both directions; towards the universe on the right and towards nothingness on the left.
Now here is the kicker. I have told you what the three dots represent. So what does the line represent? It represents you! You are the line and although your awareness may be on the center dot--and perhaps a little bit of the line either way--YOU are the line and the entity that you are exists on every point on that line from left to right. Part of you exists along the entire line but you are only aware of the center part of the line. So to gain awareness of the entire line (and all dots) is to gain awareness of your total being.
So to gain awareness of the universe, instead of imagining it from the vantage point of the center dot, you can connect to that part of you that already exists on a universal level and then you can feel the universe through that part of you. This way you can directly experience the universe rather than just imagining or visualizing it. The same thing goes for the micro dot on the left end of the line. When you become aware of and experience the entire line you then realize the totality of your being and you realize that you are a god.
So you can see why it is important to imagine both the universe and the No Thing because imagining it is the first step in sending our awareness in those directions in order to connect with that part of us that already exists in those levels.
That is one way of looking at it, anyway. We can further warp our minds thinking about the paradox of All That Is and No Thing both existing simultaneously. But we better not push ourselves too far.
